So we never had mangosteen before. Solveig and I were just stepping out for a walk when we ran into a truck full of mangosteen. 4 for 50 it said. So I asked for 4 and the gave me a gigantic bag of fruit. Turns out that 4 means kilograms (8.8 lbs) and 50 means 50 Thai baht ($1.50). That about 17 cents per pound of mangosteen. What a steal! Even if we had no idea what this fruit was.
Turns out that it's heavenly! Truly. You can eat it all day.
Precious white soft sweet slightly tangy fruit.
